Joshua B was born in 1980--the same year the Post-It note was invented.  So by and large it was a good year.

While he was attending Brandeis University, a friend who worked for the campus radio station asked if he’d like to DJ a show on Friday nights.  Joshua was excited, but concerned: would he have to give up a night of partying every week to peruse his hobby in radio?  Fortunately, a compromise was found:  Joshua would do the show live every Friday night from the hottest campus parties, spinning only the latest hits, and  “BRS Underground” was born.  On that day, Joshua learned that a good job should never get in the way of an active social life.

Having been spoiled for real work, Joshua had no other choice but to peruse radio professionally.  When a gig opened up on the Street Team of Boston’s premiere dance station, Star 93.7, he snatched it up.  But after he weaseled his way into an internship on the morning show, he realized that life on-air was where all the real action was!  But how to get there?  He would have to take a few more behind-the-scenes jobs before he got the chance.

Next was a production job at the nationally syndicated “Open House Party” with John Garabedian.  Clearly, John had a similar working philosophy to Joshua:  Every week, John would throw a party in the basement of his giant suburban home, invite a few celebs, and broadcast his show live over a satellite uplink!  Of course, it was all fun and games on Saturdays, but Joshua had to help prep for the party all week long.

It was moving to NYC that finally gave him the chance to move from behind an audio board to in front of the mic.  Joshua had always wanted to work for the legendary WKTU, and now he finally had the experience.  When he learned that popular mid-day DJ Diane Prior was searching for a producer, he applied and was chosen!  Joshua spent six months working with Diane, both on-air and off.  And it was that gig that finally prepared him for his time at Binghamton’s Star 105.7.

Would you buy this new barbie for your kid?  Mattell says it's based on a popular super hero but some groups are calling it the "S&M Barbie".

Provocative or just a little wild?

Failing Banks?!?
Wednesday 07-16-2008 7:41am ET
So we're all a little freaked out after hearing about IndyMac--the bank that failed in California.  Lines of hundreds of people waiting to pull their money out makes people a little scared!

Apparantly, the FDIC has prepared a list of banks most likely to fail.  And they're keeping it secret.  But a few other groups have put together a similiar list of the banks THEY think might need federal intervention.  The higher the "Texas-ratio", the worse of the bank is.

We don't recognize any of the names as having branches in NY, but we thought we'd show you the list anyway, if only to reassure you!

Madonna and her Bro's Book
Monday 07-07-2008 10:43am ET
Madonna's never been one to shy away from publicity, but she seems to be having a rough time controlling the press recently.  Madonna's brother, Chris Ciconne has authored a new tell-all bio.  It's out on July 15th, but a ton of details have already been leaked through the British press.

What do we KNOW the book says?

- At a boozy New Years party thrown by Donatella Versace, Madonna supposedly pulled Gwyneth Paltrow up onto a table where she was dancing to make out with her very publicly.

- According to Christopher, Madonna did drugs with leading showbiz execs in order to cozy up to them.

- The book says Madonna and Guy Ritchie's 7 year marriage has been filled with turmoil, and the only thing that's saved it is regular visits from a rabbi who acts as an informal counselor.

MEANTIME, Madonna's still dealing with rumors that her and NY Yankee A-Rod had an affair.

Madonna has realeased a statement saying she had NO romantic relationship with the baseball star--just that she took her kids to see a game and the rumors started flying.

It's just strange timing that A-Rod's marriage is on the rocks.  His wife Cynthia has supposedley flown off to Paris to hang out with Lenny Kravitz!

SO WHAT'S THE DEAL??

Hometown boy Richard Mathy got kicked off the Bachelorette.  We think Deanna made a huuuuuuuuge mistake.  I mean, what's the problem?  She didn't want to move to Whitney Point??

What a snob.

Oh well.  At least Richard's getting his fair share of date offers now.  We caught up with him by phone the other day and asked about life after the Bachelorette.
